Choosing a new or used motorcycle for beginners can be a demanding process, with all the different motorcycles types on the market today you can quickly become overwhelmed. The sport touring motorcycle are not as large and have less luggage cases and are lighter but have better handling. These bikes have become very popular as a middle of the road bike. They can cruise nicely, have a decent feel, and they are easier to handle.
The sport motorcycle is often referred to as the speed rocket. These smaller faster, lighter bikes are covered with shinny plastic materials that make them nice and light, but they also break easy. These super fast lighter bikes are built for speed and have very sensitive handling. It has been said that these bikes will try and throw you if they sense your lack of riding skills
The standard or basic motorcycle is competent at every thing and does not have a lot of plastic parts that will break should you drop it. These are very sturdy motorcycles and they are a very good beginner motorcycle.
Cruisers are long and low and they are a very good looking bike, with lots of modifications including longer front ends, and wider tires. These bikes tend to be bigger and heavy motorcycles.
The Enduro bikes have good suspension that can absorb big bumps and they have tires that can handle mud and gravel. The Enduro is an excellent choice for cross country trips on and off dirt roads. On draw back is their additional height, which can be difficult to handle in parking lots or a tight situations. These bikes usually are heavily built and can handle being dropped
Dual-sport motorcycles have large knobby tires excellent suspension and can go any where a street bike can go as well as most places off road or places where a dirt bike could go. The bonus is that they come equipped with lights and turn signals so they are street legal.
Off road motorcycles have adjustable suspensions big knobby tires and can climb like a mountain goat on trails. With their excellent suspension they can fly over bumps like a soaring eagle. However these motorcycles are not allowed on the public road as they do not have headlights or turn signals.
The scooter is often over looked by first time buyers and it should not be. This little motorcycle is as versatile as its bigger cousin. It’s very sturdy with good fuel economy and it has been around since the forties. The scooters’ of today are good road bikes, good for commuting, and they even have the ability to go off road within limits.
The scooter is easy to learn to ride, you can carry a passenger, it gets great fuel economy, and is perfect for getting around town. Some models even have large rear and side storage compartments. With sleek styling an easy handing ability this light nimble motorcycle should not be over looked as it is an excellent beginner bike.

Remember to always look at all the aspects related to your purchase. This includes things such as the basic cost of your purchase, maintenance, insurance and resale of the bike should you decide to purchase a larger bike after you have gain more experience riding.
